So, what good is having the coolest lazertag gear if you don't take advantage of what it can do?
We've decided to build a tank! OK, not really a tank. It's more of an armoured security vehicle. It's modeled after the M1117 Guardian that is used by our military. I'm not going to go into a huge amount of detail here, but I did want to show you some pictures of our progress. When it's done, it will have a 40 mm grenade launcher, and a 50 caliber machine gun for use in our lazertag games. It will also have a smoke generator. Make sure you let me know what you think!

Here's the basic frame. Look real close and you can see the engine. We expect to be able to hit about 20 mph.

Here's the front. The linkage is in place, but no steering wheel yet.

Now we're starting to get some of the body panels on. You're looking at foamboard insulation. We glued them to the frame with hot glue, and when it's done, we'll fiberglass over the inside and outside. It's got composite armor!

Here's the top. We'll cut the hole for the turret later.

Notice we did actually put in a steering wheel. :) Windows will come later.

It's hard to tell, but you're looking at the first layer of fiberglass. It will have at least six when we're done.

These little tires will be replaced with something more aggresive when we're done.

It's been a while, but we're back to work on the tank! Here's where the door goes.

It's going to be a gull wing door.
